The 10.40ct round amethyst ring began life as a rather fancy button in the early 1800’s and has been converted into a ring, on a 9ct gold band. The deep purple amethyst is surrounded by a halo of rose cut diamonds mounted in silver and gold.

ERA / HALLMARKS: The amethyst and diamond part of the ring dates to the early 1800’s. The band is more likely to be late 1800’s.
