This antique rose cut diamond ring dates to the early Victorian period, c. 1830-40. The centre stone is a delightful heart shaped rose cut diamond - rose cuts are an early cut of diamond where the facets sit on the top of the stone and spread like the petals of a rose. It is surrounded by a halo of smaller rose cuts, and it is remarkably bright. It is set on a simple 18ct gold band. The diamond as a small chip on the bottom right of the centre stone but is in otherwise good condition. See images.
