Extremely fine, cannetille gold earrings, with a multitude of layers and detailed, thinly hammered gold tendrils. They were designed to dance with the wearer's movement and date to c. 1830. Cannetille is a close relative of filigree work, and it very fine and thin gold work, popular in the 1820's and 30's.
MATERIALS: 18ct gold cannetille work
DIMENSIONS: 9 grams. The drop is 6cm from the top of hook, and 0.6cm wide.
ERA / HALLMARKS: No markings, tested as 18ct gold.
CONDITION: Very good; commensurate to age. One of the top section flowers is slightly different to the other - possibly an old repair.
