This gold Georgian ring features a wonderfully bright, paste ruby in the centre. Paste was a popular material in Georgian era jewellery, and it is essentially cut glass made to look like precious gems - used at a time when the gems where less available than nowadays. The gold work is ornately hand etched with scrolling foliate detail and features genuine, small sapphires and diamonds on shoulders.
